Professor Budil: “The West is getting poorer, the middle class is disappearing and there is a fierce struggle for inclusion in a united privileged class of the rich, which is impermeably isolated from the despised ‘poor’. One of the important criteria for inclusion in that “correct society” is the acceptance of the “climate struggle”. Let’s not look for a deeper rational justification for this; it is essentially an act of faith.

If Western civilisation decided to truly adapt to climate change, it would, with an intellectual commitment worthy of the Manhattan or Apollo programmes, throw itself into building and developing nuclear power stations and advanced technologies, for example, and would undoubtedly achieve amazing things. It would certainly not focus on importing gas from Russia and technological components for energy equipment from China.”
I remind you of what I wrote a few weeks ago. Climate change advocates don’t really give a crap about “technical solutions” like reducing some gas production. They believe that only human sacrifice and human suffering can save the planet. The more suffering, the more pain, the more lives destroyed, the more saved the planet. We are witnessing a resurgence of pre-rational cults.
