It would be reasonable and logical for the Western, Orthodox and Hindu civilizations to form an alliance to push back Islam. An alliance driven by the common goal of achieving the prevalence of some sane, fairly rational form of Islam that does not threaten the world. That Islam be transformed from a warlike ideology into a religion and that it not be allowed to return to its normal bloodthirsty form until it has disappeared altogether.

But it turned out differently. Western and Orthodox civilizations are fighting a life and death struggle, both sides are pandering to Muslims, and there is a growing risk on both sides that the frameworks of civilization will be destroyed by Islam. Only India remains firm. Even the Russians have long shown a willingness to ally, including by providing military bases and logistical support to the US military in its fight against Al Qaeda. It is only for the West that even the worst Muslim thugs have always been welcome allies. Today, the Russian government is in the position that if it is not welcoming enough to the Muslim communities, the Americans will immediately step in and start supporting and radicalising them.

This has been the case for a long time. It just seems that Russian foreign policy is beginning to align itself accordingly.

The week before last, a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the head of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Hissein Brahim Taha, escaped the attention of the press. The joint statement has two points. One contains the usual curses on Israel. This can be understood because the Russians cannot act otherwise. Iran is a key ally for them. And they seem to understand that in Israel as well.

But there is a second point. Joint action against “discrimination against Muslim communities”, which is another word for jihad. I remind you that the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation does not support the spread of any Islam, but of Wahhabism. That is to say, the most radical fundamentalist variant. Now, perhaps with Russian cooperation.

There could be little worse news. That the Russians will end up paying for it too is scant consolation.
