In a podcast with the blogger Milenial Woes, I talked about, among other things, the situation in post-communist countries. Until some 10 – 15 years ago we lived much more freely than people in Western Europe. But things are gradually changing. There is a gradual generational change, young ambitious fanatics with experience from Western Europe and the USA are coming in, Western foundations (primarily Soros’ Open Society, but also others) are getting more and more say, and freedom is rapidly diminishing. However, we can still afford things that would be absolutely out of the question in Germany, Britain or the US.
Of course, we also talked about global elites, corporate executives, the consequences of divided societies. I also touched on the difference between racism and nationalism. I tried to show that nationalism and racism are two opposite ways of thinking and two opposite ways of looking at the world. Whoever does not want to be a nationalist is condemned to become a racist. This seems to have offended some viewers, but it’s good to remember that the idea of different races only came about in the 19th century, and that it’s just one way of looking at the world. Today’s global elite is racist, but it may not always be so.
