The meeting in Switzerland was no peace summit. It was to be a conference of victorious powers to address how to divide or otherwise punish a defeated Russia. It’s just that what’s happening on the battlefield somehow doesn’t correspond to the fact that it’s supposed to be about the victorious powers. So what has come out of this is a meeting of the defeated powers, whose representatives will be making speeches on the subject of “What would we do with Russia if we could defeat it”.
It could be an interesting exercise in creativity. If I could defeat Russia, I would have a luxury residence built somewhere in the pristine countryside in the foothills of the Ural Mountains. My comfort would be looked after by thousands of Russian slave girls. And so on. My fantasies are of course meaningless, but let’s make no mistake. The fantasies of those who meet in Switzerland are equally insignificant.”
