“What is happening in Europe now is the biggest population shift since the migration of peoples, more than a thousand years ago. It is said that there has been migration in all ages. That is true in the sense that in all times some people have migrated. But if we look at the ratio of the number of people moving relative to the total population, there has never been a comparatively massive migration. Douglas Murray points out that when French Protestants were fleeing persecution and England gave them refuge, 30,000 people came to England. If we calculate that to today’s population, it is some 400,000. And that was a one-off event that affected England for generations. Even if we take situations where a country was conquered by invaders…for example, when the Normans conquered England, even then the number of conquerors was no more than five percent. Today, millions and millions come and it’s common to talk about the indigenous population being in the minority here, the indigenous population being in the minority there, the newcomers being ‘only’ 40% or 20% here…history doesn’t know such huge shifts.”
