Remember when a few protesters broke into the U.S. Congress building in January 2021? Security forces fired on them then, killing several, and later it was even described as a threat to democracy. I pointed out at the time that the demonstrators were just using a procedure that is common in American politics and that they could not have imagined the brutal reaction that would follow. Some Czech readers tapped their foreheads.
Lo and behold, last week a group of Palestinian jihad supporters infiltrated the same building. No one shot at them. On the contrary, politicians approached them, spoke to them and listened to their point of view. After a few hours, the demonstrators left again.
It was clear from the January 6, 2021 meeting of the security forces that at least some of them anticipated that the same thing would take place. The decision to shoot unarmed protesters with live ammunition (without first asking them to leave the building) was made only during the event. In short, when you call for an investigation into voter fraud in America, you are attacking the very core of the system. Terrorism is cool by comparison.
