A vote for Trump is a vote for the traditional family. Undoubtedly. However, it is interesting to see how the traditional family is evolving, and it’s the dynasty Trump dynasty is a clear example. Yes, the evolution is natural. But natural evolution is not towards a “rainbow family”, it’s in a different direction.
One change everyone has probably noticed. And that is that a lifelong relationship is is gradually being replaced by “serial monogamy”. The family consists of one man and one one woman. But every few years, a different set-up. And all indications are that the one model is fully functional in terms of emotional support, financial stability and and child rearing.
But if you look closely, you’ll notice one more change. Namely, the pattern of the husband being a little older than the wife is breaking down. Or more years. Donald Trump has that, but his children don’t. Donald Trump Jr. lives with a wife seven years older than him, Eric Trump has a wife two years older than him, and Tiffany Trump has a husband four years younger than her. And no one’s finds it strange. Ivanka and Jared are the same age. It’s due to advanced cosmetics industry? Is it slower aging? Does it signal a shift in male-female relationships?
But it’s the age differences you don’t notice at first glance. It’s not unlike the pathological pattern of the French presidential couple.
