So I hear many people didn’t like the opening ceremony of the Olympics. You wouldn’t like it because you didn’t understand that you don’t live in the ’80s anymore. Back then, such a spectacle would have been made for the crowds. Today it’s made up by members of the elite for other members of the elite. The goal is not to make it appeal to the people. The goal is to be appreciated by some magazine or committee you’ve never heard of.
When you look at the opening ceremony, it is similar to the peasants looking through the window at the manorial feast. Don’t you like it? Then you’re just not noble enough!
