Western “experts” have finally figured out a sure-fire way to defeat Russia. Bring the world to the brink of nuclear apocalypse and give the Russians a choice: Either unconditional surrender or unleash it and we all die.
Make no mistake, this is not a crazy movie script. This is really being pushed by people like Czech Chief of Staff Rehka and NATO military chief Bauer, and they are explicitly supported by the Czech President. And we have to give the experts the benefit of the doubt that there is probably no other way to defeat Russia on the current battlefield. However, this does not change the fact that in the Reagan era such people would probably have ended up in a psychiatric ward.
Did you know that even, say, the legendary and feared leader of the Huns, Attila, preferred to avoid direct military conflict? If there was an opportunity to get what he wanted (usually gold and slaves) through negotiation, he preferred to negotiate. It wasn’t until the current generals, who never fought a war themselves, figured out that one must never negotiate under any circumstances. That’s just for comparison’s sake.
With these experts, it may be similar to teenage activists chaining themselves to excavators to stop coal mining while counting on returning to their parents’ heated apartments for a hot shower. They don’t count on the possibility that anyone might take it seriously. But they really do close the mines eventually. So the military leaders don’t get the same thing.
