Industry associations have also joined the sharp criticism of the Czech government’s climate policy. For the first time, we are hearing clearly from them that the Government’s actions are miserable and that they are endangering the entire national economy. For the first time we are hearing it from managers responsible to foreign headquarters. But now the green frenzy is too much. Prime Minister Petr Fiala cannot stop it even if he wanted to.
And one wonders why these people didn’t speak up sooner. They had enough power to stop this crazy policy.
But when you are the director of a Czech branch, you have a good salary, lots of other benefits, and of course you don’t want to risk being targeted by activists, negative articles in the newspapers, being noticed by bosses abroad… and there are dozens of equally good ones waiting for every senior manager’s seat. So corporate executives preferred to support the fanatics at the non-profits and wait for someone to fight it out for them.
It hasn’t been found, and managers are discovering that fussing about the future of the planet isn’t enough when the desired profits don’t go along with it. Yes, somebody’s got to make a fuss. But that’s not the case with the subhumans of Eastern Europe.
