I got the “vaccine terror” question again. First and foremost, it’s about rational risk assessment, but we can’t expect that from fanatical people. To their brains, even the most stupid thing seems rational.
But it’s also a moral-ideological question. Vaccination is civilization!!! I don’t want to go back to the Dark Ages, when any microorganism could cause mass death at any time. I do not want to go back to the days of stupidity, superstition, constant religious wars, witch burnings and pogroms against Jews. To a time of horrific poverty and constant fear. To a time of terrible inequality and constant injustice. A time without modern medicine, without central heating and without a continuous food supply. Yes, even in those times heroic deeds were done. Yes, it was in those times that the ideas on which our civilisation was later founded were born. But that really doesn’t mean that we should destroy our world, which until recently worked perfectly. That is also why I support science and rationality, the application of scientific discoveries and, of course, vaccination. Where there is civilisation, there is vaccination.
